The Isle of Man TT has confirmed the tragic passing of Daniel Ingham, aged 33, following an incident during a qualifying session on Wednesday. Ingham, hailing from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, lost his life after an accident at Doran’s Bend on the race course.
The fatal incident occurred during the initial lap of the third qualifying session. Ingham is survived by his wife, Helayna, and their two children. The Isle of Man TT Races released a statement expressing deep regret over the loss of Ingham, who had a decade of competitive experience and notable accomplishments, including a first-place finish in the 2024 Senior Manx Grand Prix.
This unfortunate event represents the first fatality at the TT since 2024 and comes shortly after a deadly crash at the Billown circuit on the island during the Pre-TT Classic Road Races last weekend. Heartfelt tributes have flooded in for Ingham, with fans acknowledging the risks involved in the Isle of Man TT races and honoring his passion for the sport.
In a separate incident on Wednesday, popular Sidecar class competitors Ryan and Callum Crowe, victors of the 2025 race, were hospitalized following a crash. This followed another accident involving rider Maria Costello on Tuesday, who is reported to be in a serious but stable condition. In response, the Isle of Man TT has decided to suspend the Sidecar class for the remainder of the ongoing event, prioritizing safety for all participants and spectators.
The Race Organization emphasized that this decision was made with a commitment to reviewing and enhancing safety measures whenever incidents occur. They assured that updates on the situation will be communicated through official Isle of Man TT Races channels as the assessment process continues.
