Trump Undecided on Iran Deal, Eyes Military Action

Published on

Donald Trump has expressed uncertainty about the potential deal with Iran, stating he is evenly split between reaching an agreement or resorting to extreme military action. The US president announced plans to meet with negotiators to evaluate Iran’s latest proposal, with a final decision expected on Sunday.

In a firm statement today, Trump revealed that discussions with Vice President JD Vance, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner would focus on Iran’s recent offer. He emphasized the situation as being on a “solid 50/50” balance, indicating the possibility of either a favorable deal with Tehran or severe military action.

Trump mentioned to Axios, “I believe one of two outcomes will occur: either a significant military strike unlike any before, or the signing of a beneficial agreement.” The latest proposal, following peace talks between Iran and Pakistan, entails a cessation of military activities and the initiation of a 30-day period for more detailed negotiations aimed at a comprehensive resolution.

Previously, Trump highlighted key concerns that needed attention, including issues related to uranium enrichment and the handling of Iran’s existing uranium supplies. This ongoing development underscores the delicate balance in diplomatic relations with Iran.
