Phil Spencer, a prominent figure in the property industry, was recently honored by King Charles III at Windsor Castle. The 56-year-old presenter, known for his long-standing role on Channel 4’s Location, Location, Location alongside Kirstie Allsopp, received recognition from the monarch for his dedicated patronage of the charity St Mungo’s.

Spencer’s involvement with St Mungo’s dates back to 2010, leading to his recent appointment as an MBE recipient. Despite gaining fame through his television work, his commitment to charitable causes has remained a steadfast priority throughout his career.

During the ceremony at Windsor Castle, Spencer was visibly elated as King Charles presented him with the prestigious honor. Reflecting on the momentous occasion, he expressed gratitude and acknowledged the significance of the cause, emphasizing its personal importance to him.

Tragically, Spencer’s parents were not present to witness his proud moment, having passed away in a devastating car accident. Following the loss, Spencer paid a heartfelt tribute to his late parents, describing their peaceful departure as they “held hands under the water and quietly slipped away.”

Beyond his philanthropic endeavors, Spencer continues to engage with his audience through his property-focused television show. Offering practical advice, he once recommended using a 10p coin to assess potential property issues, particularly focusing on identifying subsidence in homes.

In a recent interview with Metro, Spencer elaborated on the importance of assessing cracks in properties, emphasizing the need for caution and the value of the “10p test” as a simple yet effective method. He highlighted that cracks typically appear at vulnerable points in homes, such as around windows or doorframes, providing valuable insights for prospective homeowners.
