“UK Braces for Summer-Like Weekend Weather”

Published on

Britain is poised to experience summer-like warm weather this upcoming weekend and into the following week, as indicated by the latest weather forecasts. Up to eight regions in the UK could see temperatures reaching 22C next week due to the influence of a high-pressure system towards the end of April.

According to forecast data from WXCharts, minimum temperatures of 20C are expected across various areas next Wednesday, with the southern regions anticipated to be the warmest. Wales is forecasted to see temperatures ranging from 14 to 20C, while Scotland could experience temperatures between 11C and 19C. Areas like Somerset, Dorset, Berkshire, Hampshire, Gloucestershire, and Warwickshire may reach temperatures exceeding 21C, based on the maps.

Temperatures in regions around the West Midlands and Staffordshire could even hit 22C, significantly above the average daytime maximum temperature for April, which stands at 14C. The ongoing warm spell is set to persist through the weekend, with abundant sunshine expected across most parts of the country.

Deputy Chief Forecaster Steven Keates mentioned that high pressure will dominate the UK’s weather for the rest of the week and the weekend, leading to dry conditions with plenty of sunshine. However, some areas might experience cloudier conditions at times, with the possibility of patchy rain in northern Scotland towards the weekend.

Temperatures are projected to rise steadily, peaking in the low twenties on Friday and over the weekend. Coastal areas may be slightly cooler due to onshore breezes, and gardeners are advised to be cautious as clear skies and light winds overnight could result in patchy frost.

With tree pollen at its peak season, hay fever sufferers in Britain, estimated at 16 million, have been cautioned about potential symptoms accompanying the sunny weather and clear skies this weekend. The Met Office’s pollen forecast indicates ‘High’ levels in England and Wales on Saturday, reaching ‘Very High’ in the Scottish Borders.

To minimize pollen exposure, experts recommend wearing wraparound sunglasses and applying Vaseline around the nostrils to prevent pollen from entering the eyes and nose. The weather outlook includes morning low cloud clearing for a sunny day, with warmth for most regions except along eastern coasts where it will remain chilly.

The forecast predicts predominantly fine and dry weather with ample sunshine, occasional overnight fog and frost, mainly in the east, and temperatures above average in many areas.
