Ukraine has declared its intention to escalate intense offensives against Russia in response to the Kremlin’s plan to mobilize over 400,000 new troops to the frontlines. This decision follows a series of successful strikes by Kyiv against Russia over the weekend, including effective attacks on Kremlin oil facilities.

In a bid to achieve a decisive outcome in the ongoing conflict with Ukraine, the Kremlin’s military leaders have directed the establishment of 11 new divisions in 2026. The total number of Russian troops slated for mobilization this year stands at 409,000, with the potential for additional reinforcements from North Korea.

To counter the mounting threat posed by Russia, Ukraine’s Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, emphasized the necessity of offensive operations to maintain the initiative. He stressed the importance of combining strategic defensive measures with proactive offensives to keep the enemy on the defensive.

The prolonged warfare in Ukraine has taken a heavy toll on Russia, with significant casualties and a notable disruption of its oil-dependent economy. Russian forces have suffered substantial losses in terms of personnel and military assets, including tanks, artillery, armored vehicles, aircraft, and warships.

Despite facing challenges such as inadequate weaponry and logistical issues, Ukraine has managed to inflict considerable damage on Russian forces, including successful sabotage missions targeting Kremlin submarines. Syrsky highlighted Russia’s slow progress in advancing into Ukrainian territory, emphasizing the resilience and effectiveness of Ukraine’s defense strategy.

Throughout the conflict, Russia has struggled to make significant territorial gains in Ukraine, with Ukrainian forces successfully thwarting enemy advances and preserving strategic positions. The ongoing military operations have showcased Ukraine’s ability to resist aggression and weaken the adversary’s capabilities over time.
