In a bold move, a van driver assisted armed police in apprehending a fleeing suspect in Kent by offering a ride to an officer during a foot chase. Video footage captured the driver stopping as armed officers pursued a wanted individual in Thanet, inviting one officer to hop into the back of the van. The incident unfolded following reports of a serious assault, where the suspect managed to escape officers and run towards Tivoli Road.

The armed officer quickly entered the black van, leaving the sliding door open as he guided the driver through the pursuit, urging him to follow the fleeing suspect. Following the officer’s directions, the driver accelerated, positioning the van ahead of the suspect. The armed officer then swiftly exited the van, drew his weapon, and successfully apprehended the suspect.

The driver, whose identity remains undisclosed, witnessed the arrest and received appreciation from officers with a handshake for his assistance. Expressing his feelings, the driver mentioned, “I am just glad I could be of service. That was quite exhilarating.”
