Zayn Malik Infuses Pakistani Roots and R&B in New Music

Published on

Zayn Malik, aged 33, has integrated Pakistani influences and R&B into his latest music to showcase his cultural roots to a global audience. Inspired by Pakistani artist Nursat, Zayn, who identifies as “half-Pakistani,” admires Nursat’s captivating voice and the hypnotic quality of his music. Describing his music as a blend of sexy R&B with an Indian touch, Zayn aims to create a unique musical experience.

Despite receiving positive feedback on his new album, Zayn has faced challenges recently. His album launch was overshadowed by a health scare that led to hospitalization, resulting in the cancellation of promotional events. Additionally, reports of a conflict with former 1D bandmate Louis Tomlinson have emerged, causing disruptions to their collaborative Netflix project. Both musicians have not publicly addressed these allegations.

With the release of his fifth solo album, “Konnakol,” Zayn’s fans anticipate his recovery for his upcoming world tour, commencing at Manchester’s AO Arena on May 12. Zayn’s father, Yaser, a former urban music worker, and his mother, a halal school cook, have been supportive of his musical journey, with Yaser showing enthusiasm for Zayn’s new album and its Indian-influenced tracks.

Reflecting on his personal life, Zayn shares how becoming a father to his daughter, Khai, has revitalized his sense of joy and purpose. He confesses that prior to fatherhood, he struggled to find fulfillment, especially during his time with 1D. Parenthood has brought a newfound happiness and motivation to be a positive role model for his daughter.

As Khai grows older, Zayn expresses concerns about potential shifts in their relationship dynamics. Despite his apprehensions, he values the experience of being a parent and acknowledges the impact Khai has had on his life. Living in rural Pennsylvania on a farm filled with animals, Zayn cherishes his roots in Bradford, recognizing the city’s rich artistic community that shaped his upbringing.

Zayn, known for his solo albums post-1D, emphasizes personal growth and maturity since his boy band days. He attributes his newfound perspective on life to Khai’s unconditional love, which has reignited his passion and appreciation for the beauty of existence.
