Residents were forced to evacuate after authorities discovered a suspected grenade at a residence. The bomb squad was called in, and a section of Kirkstall Close in Chorley was sealed off as a precaution. Following a police pursuit in Preston, the suspected grenade was found during a search on June 21.

Law enforcement officers began pursuing a red Ford Fiesta in New Hall Lane around 9:40 pm, which culminated in a stop on Brockholes Brow using tactical measures to prevent the driver from fleeing onto the M6 motorway. The driver, a 20-year-old man from Chorley, brandished what appeared to be a handgun at officers upon exiting the vehicle, later revealed to be a BB gun. He was apprehended and found in possession of two knives, along with the imitation firearm.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of multiple offenses, including possession of a firearm and carrying offensive weapons. Additionally, three passengers, two men aged 20 and 21 from Preston, and a 21-year-old woman, were arrested on suspicion of possessing offensive weapons. All four individuals are currently in custody.

As part of the investigation, Lancashire Police closed part of Brockholes Brow and discovered the grenade at a property on Kirkstall Close in Chorley. The authorities assured the public of no immediate risk and urged anyone with relevant information to come forward. Residents were evacuated as a precautionary measure, and the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team was deployed. Inquiries are ongoing, and individuals are encouraged to contact the authorities if they have any pertinent details or footage related to the incident.
