“US Army to Implement Testosterone Screening Program”

Published on

The US Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, has unveiled an unconventional strategy to ensure all US army soldiers possess high levels of testosterone. Hegseth, a former Fox News personality, disclosed his intention to implement a new screening program for service members to confirm optimal testosterone levels.

In a video lasting nearly three minutes, Hegseth detailed his vision for a “High-T Department of War,” where army personnel aged over 30 would undergo testosterone level assessments. He emphasized the natural decline in testosterone levels as individuals age and highlighted the importance of maintaining peak physical and mental performance.

Acknowledging the critical role of individual soldiers in warfare, Hegseth stressed the significance of optimizing their performance, resilience, and long-term health. He announced the authorization of a screening program for testosterone deficiency, making it a part of the annual health assessment for army personnel over 30.

While the testosterone check would be optional for soldiers under 30, Hegseth emphasized that those recommended for treatment could choose to undergo testosterone replacement therapy. The initiative aims to enhance soldiers’ natural capabilities, promote longevity, and ensure they are equipped with the necessary biological foundation for combat readiness.

Hegseth assured that boosting soldiers’ testosterone levels would enhance the army’s combat effectiveness and maintain its superiority in warfare. The proposal has sparked comparisons to gender-affirming care in the transgender community, drawing attention to Hegseth’s controversial stance on such matters.

The Pentagon, in response to inquiries about the new policy’s objectives, referred to Hegseth’s remarks emphasizing the need to keep troops strong, resilient, and mentally prepared for the challenges of modern warfare. Notably, recent scrutiny has surrounded the use of testosterone and similar substances among special operations troops, particularly Navy SEALs, to enhance performance.

Hegseth clarified that the initiative does not aim to artificially enhance soldiers’ capabilities but rather to optimize their existing potential. When questioned about the inclusion of female troops in the testing process, particularly regarding estrogen levels during perimenopause, the Pentagon declined to provide further details beyond Hegseth’s statements.
