The GFS weather model suggests a resurgence of high temperatures above 30C next Wednesday, with potential highs of 33C in western England, 32C in Wales, and 31C in Yorkshire. For the following Thursday, temperatures could widely hit 34C in eastern, central, and southern parts of England, along with most areas of England and Wales exceeding 30C once again.

Similar conditions are anticipated for Friday and Saturday next week, with possible highs of 34C in western regions and the south-east of England respectively. Temperature anomaly maps for the upcoming week show regions of England and Wales shaded in dark red, indicating temperatures well above the seasonal average.

According to the GFS model, around 15 counties in England could experience temperatures reaching or surpassing 34C next week. The Met Office expects temperatures to stay above average during the week, with a possibility of thundery spells in southern regions.

Looking ahead to mid-August, the Met Office suggests a potential shift in weather patterns, with higher pressure likely in the north of the UK and lower pressure in the south. This could lead to increased chances of Atlantic frontal systems or thundery conditions affecting southern areas, although rainfall levels may vary. Temperature-wise, above-average temperatures are anticipated, especially in the south, without the extreme heat witnessed in recent weeks.
