“Take That’s Rise to Fame Impact: Tragic Fallout for Discoverer”

Take That’s rise to fame had consequences for the person who discovered them. Nigel Martin-Smith founded the group in 1989 after noticing a gap in the market left by the disbandment of New Kids On The Block. Gary Barlow was the initial member, later joined by Howard Donald, Jason Orange, Mark Owen, and Robbie Williams. The group went on to sell a remarkable 45 million records globally, leading to a signing with Sony RCA under the guidance of former A&R Manager, Korda Marshall.

However, this deal marked the end of Korda’s tenure at the label, as he was let go three months later due to insufficient profitability from Take That. Despite this setback, Korda went on to establish his own label, Infectious Records, leveraging his experience working with the group. Reflecting on his time with Take That, Korda mentioned his passion for 70s pop music and how the group stood out among the acts he had signed previously.

Korda recalled his first encounter with Take That, where initial skepticism turned into admiration after witnessing their impressive performance at an old church in London. Despite early setbacks with chart performance, Take That eventually achieved success with hits like “It Only Takes a Minute” and their first Number One single, “Pray.” Their debut album, “Take That & Party,” also garnered significant sales.

Following Korda’s departure, Take That soared in popularity, capturing the hearts of fans, particularly teenage girls. The group amassed an impressive record of 12 Number 1 singles and nine Number One albums. Despite lineup changes over the years, including Robbie’s departure in 1995 and subsequent return in 2010, Take That continued to thrive as a three-piece following further departures.

The story of Take That’s journey serves as a testament to their enduring success and resilience in the music industry. For more entertainment news and updates, follow Mirror Celebs on various social media platforms.
