A fatal collision between a car and a van in Ferny Hill, Enfield, resulted in the death of a teenager and left another individual with life-altering injuries.
Authorities responded to the incident on November 6 at approximately 11:40 pm following reports of the crash. Three passengers, including two teenage boys and an 18-year-old, sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
Additionally, a man in his 40s, believed to be the van driver, was also injured and received medical treatment.
Tragically, despite medical intervention, the 18-year-old succumbed to his injuries on November 8. One of the teenage boys sustained life-changing injuries, while the other teenage boy and the van driver had injuries deemed non-life-threatening.
Authorities confirmed that support is being provided to the victim’s family by specialized officers and are now seeking information from the public regarding the incident.
No arrests have been made as the investigation by officers remains ongoing.
Detective Constable Pauline Redmond, from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, stated: “Our focus is on uncovering the circumstances that led to the tragic death of the 18-year-old victim. By understanding the events that transpired, we aim to offer some solace to the family and loved ones. Our sympathies are with all those affected by this devastating event.
“We urge anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the collision to step forward. Other motorists who may have dash cam footage or information that could assist our investigation are encouraged to contact us promptly.”
