The primary snowfall is anticipated in the Southwest of England, not extending further north than Herefordshire in the Midlands overnight. Significant snowfall of over five inches is expected in Exmoor and parts of Somerset.

One graphic highlights the forecast for wintry conditions affecting large areas of the Southwest of England, the Home Counties, and south Wales. Another scenario suggests snow could reach the Midlands, north Wales, and Northern Ireland, with stronger winds, particularly along the south coast and parts of Dorset on Wednesday night.

Thursday is predicted to be wet, especially in southern England, with persisting cold temperatures, feeling as low as -5C in northern England. This contrasts sharply with recent days, where temperatures exceeded 11C in Gosport, Hampshire.
