Television legend Dale Winton is remembered with sorrow, eight years following his untimely passing. The cheerful TV host died unexpectedly on this day in 2018 at the age of 62, leaving fans and friends in disbelief.

After his death, details of Winton’s final wishes were revealed, showing that he left his entire £2.1 million estate to BBC Chief Creative Officer Mark Linsey, a close friend. The handwritten will specified that Winton’s ashes be placed alongside his late mother’s, who died tragically in 1976. Additionally, provisions were made for three other dear friends to receive gifts.

Initially valued at £2.22 million, Winton’s estate decreased in worth after his financial affairs were settled posthumously. He was laid to rest at Golders Green cemetery in North London, fulfilling his desire to have his ashes interred next to his mother, Sheree.

The loss of his mother at a young age had a lasting impact on Winton, as he openly discussed in his autobiography. Despite rumors suggesting otherwise, the coroner confirmed that Winton’s death was due to ‘natural causes’ and not suicide.
