Adam Henson has expressed concerns regarding the future of interactive farming attractions, warning that increasing regulations may significantly alter the sector he has supported for many years.

While visiting Cannon Hall Farm, the host of the popular show “Countryfile” discussed the growing connection between farming and social media, playfully mentioning how farmers are becoming digital celebrities.

Engaging with farmers Robert and Dave Nicholson, Adam jokingly commented on their online presence, suggesting they are influencers on platforms like Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube. He humorously speculated that farmers might even step into the boxing ring with famous personalities.

In response to the influencer label, Rob rejected the idea, emphasizing that he sees himself first and foremost as a farmer rather than an influencer. Adam agreed with Rob but shifted the conversation towards the evolving farming practices and visitor interactions.

Reflecting on advice from his late father, Adam emphasized the importance of maintaining a hands-on approach on farms, expressing that the day animals are isolated behind glass is the day they cease operations. He stressed the significance of safety measures on farms, especially concerning public visitors.

Adam highlighted the need to balance safety protocols with the hands-on farm experience, stating that restricting interactions like handling chicks or feeding lambs would mark the end of that authentic engagement.

Acknowledging the need for maintaining high standards, Rob emphasized the importance of adhering to top-notch protocols. Adam concurred, praising professional organizations for setting the standard in this regard.

At 60 years old, Adam has become a prominent figure in British farming since joining “Countryfile” in 2001. His work has been lauded for bringing rural life to broader audiences, covering topics such as agriculture, conservation, and food production.

Apart from his television appearances, Adam manages a working farm in Gloucestershire and remains closely linked to Cotswold Farm Park, a renowned visitor attraction founded by his father, Joe Henson. The park is known for its dedication to preserving rare breeds and educating the public, values that Adam continues to uphold.
