During his visit, Prince William mentioned that his children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, were thrilled about his Jaguar racing HQ tour, expressing their love for the sport. Engaging with graduates and interns at the Oxfordshire complex, the Prince speculated about the possibility of technology replacing drivers in the future.

Reflecting on technological advancements, Prince William pondered the scenario where AI could potentially outperform human drivers, acknowledging the continuous pursuit of precision and speed in the racing industry. He commended the team for their progress and expressed his anticipation for their future endeavors.

As part of the tour, Prince William examined Jaguar TCS Racing’s cutting-edge technology and sustainability initiatives, aimed at enhancing their competitiveness in Formula E. He interacted with Jaguar driver António Félix da Costa and observed the race strategy simulation room, immersing himself in the team’s operational dynamics.

In a conversation with Jack Lambert, the head of technical integration at Jaguar TCS Racing, Prince William inquired about the future of electrification in racing, acknowledging the team’s commitment to innovation and environmental sustainability. Discussing the importance of diversity in the industry, the Prince highlighted the significance of programs like the graduate scheme in promoting inclusivity.

Following his visit, Mr. Lambert emphasized the uncertainty surrounding the future direction of engineering in racing, emphasizing the unique essence of human drivers in fostering competition and emotional engagement. Prince William’s recent activities also included attending a Buckingham Palace reception with senior royals to commemorate the late Queen Elizabeth’s 100th birth anniversary.
