A spokesperson from Cheshire Police stated that a warrant is being executed at three addresses in Crewe with the assistance of neighboring law enforcement agencies. The allegations involve serious sexual abuse, modern slavery, and forced marriage within a religious group in Crewe. Chief Superintendent Gareth Wrigley of Cheshire Constabulary emphasized that the operation is the result of a thorough investigation into reports of significant sexual offenses, forced marriage, and modern slavery linked to members of the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light.
While the individuals arrested are affiliated with the group, it is clarified that the investigation is focused on the specific allegations rather than the religion itself. Cheshire Police is dedicated to addressing all reports of sexual assault and ensuring justice. Following the arrests, efforts are being made in collaboration with partners to provide appropriate support and safeguarding to other group members.
