Nationwide Bank Customers Await £100 Bonus News

Published on

Millions of Nationwide bank customers will soon learn if they are set to receive an additional £100 Fairer Share bonus this week. The financial institution has been providing £100 bonus payments to millions of its customers annually for the past three years. The decision on whether the bonus will be distributed in 2026 is anticipated to be announced this Thursday along with Nationwide’s latest full-year financial results.

Nationwide will also disclose the specific eligibility criteria for the one-off bonus. In prior years, customers were required to have a qualifying current account along with either a savings account or mortgage with Nationwide to qualify for the bonus.

For savings account holders, a minimum savings balance of £100 was necessary, while mortgage customers needed to have at least £100 outstanding by the end of March to be considered. Different criteria applied to customers with FlexOne, FlexStudent, or FlexGraduate accounts, where specific transactions or account activities during March were required.

Customers with FlexAccount, FlexDirect, or FlexBasic accounts had to meet certain payment and transaction conditions to be eligible for the bonus. FlexPlus customers were only required to pay the monthly fee to qualify.

The qualifying conditions may vary from previous years, but the guidelines from 2025 offer insight into the potential criteria for the upcoming bonus. If the Fairer Share bonus is confirmed and customers meet the eligibility requirements, the bonus will be automatically deposited into their Nationwide accounts.

Last year, Nationwide introduced the Fairer Share scheme in May, with bonus payments issued in June and July. The bonus amount is considered savings for tax purposes, and customers can earn up to £1,000 in savings interest annually before tax obligations arise.

Nationwide distributed £400 million to over four million customers last year, following a record pre-tax profit of £2.3 billion. In the previous year, £385 million was awarded to 3.85 million individuals.
