The partner of renowned actor James Handy has spoken out after his sudden passing earlier this week. Wendy Gledhill addressed the tragic incident involving her son, Michael Gledhill, who is accused of fatally stabbing James Handy.
James Handy, an 81-year-old actor known for his roles in various movies including Arachnophobia, Jumanji, Unbreakable, Logan, and Top Gun: Maverick, tragically succumbed to a stab wound on Thursday, June 4. Following the incident, Wendy’s son Michael was taken into custody on suspicion of murder.
In a recent interview with The California Post, Wendy, aged 76, expressed her sorrow over the heartbreaking events, stating, “I’m just trying to take it one day at a time, one minute at a time. I loved James and my son.” Wendy disclosed that her son had stopped taking his prescribed medication for schizophrenia before the alleged attack.
Los Angeles police confirmed on June 4 that they were investigating a fatal stabbing that led to James Handy’s death. The suspect, Michael Gledhill, 44, was arrested and charged with murder.
Wendy also conveyed her condolences to James’s family, expressing deep regret over the tragic turn of events. James Handy, with a successful 45-year career in the entertainment industry, appeared in popular productions such as Jumanji, The X-Files, Law and Order, and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Michael remains in custody on a $2 million bail, while authorities continue to investigate the motive behind the incident and Wendy’s claims about her son’s mental health condition at the time of the stabbing.
