A former judge of the popular TV show “Strictly Come Dancing,” Arlene Phillips, shared her thoughts on potential hosts for the upcoming season. During a charity event in London, she humorously suggested herself as the ideal candidate before mentioning Angela Scanlon as a suitable option.

Phillips expressed her opinion on other rumored contenders like Rylan, Zoe Ball, and Emma Willis, stating that while they would all excel in the role, she hoped for fresh faces to be considered for the position.

Having served as a judge on Strictly from 2004 to 2008, Phillips faced controversy over her departure, with speculation surrounding age being a factor in her replacement by Alesha Dixon.

Auditions are currently underway to recruit new hosts and professional dancers for the next series following the departure of previous presenters and the removal of beloved dancers like Nadia Bychkova and Karen Hauer.

Aside from her television work, Phillips made history as the oldest contestant on a reality show in 2021 when she participated in the jungle-themed program. Despite her busy schedule, she missed watching the latest season of “I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.”

Reflecting on her jungle experience, Phillips revealed that she overcame her fear of spiders and drew inspiration from a courageous young woman battling cancer, ultimately leading her to face her fears and participate in the show.
