Luke Littler recently shared that he extended an invitation to Prince William for the upcoming PDC World Championship at Alexandra Palace. The 19-year-old met the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle following his MBE recognition in darts.
During their conversation, Littler mentioned that William expressed interest in attending an event at Ally Pally as it seemed like a fun night out. The two-time world champion then welcomed the future king to join the World Championship.
Littler commented on their discussion, stating that Prince William acknowledged following the darts scene and the sport’s rise in popularity. Although he did not formally invite him, Littler mentioned that he or the PDC could arrange tickets if needed.
Prince William, known for his passion for football, celebrated Aston Villa’s victory in the Europa League recently. Villa’s defender, Matty Cash, shared that the prince joined the team for a celebratory drink after their win.
While it remains uncertain if Prince William will develop a similar enthusiasm for darts, Littler described the opportunity to chat with him as an extraordinary experience. Reflecting on receiving his MBE alongside notable figures like Cynthia Erivo and Matt Lucas, Littler expressed gratitude for the recognition he received for his contributions to the sport.
Looking ahead, Littler is focusing on the Premier League Darts title, aiming for his second win. He is set to compete against Gerwyn Price in the semi-final, with a potential final match against Jonny Clayton or Luke Humphries. Littler is determined to continue his success in the sport and is prepared for the upcoming challenges.
