David Jason, known for his role in “Only Fools And Horses,” recently took part in a BBC advertisement alongside various other celebrities to highlight the BBC’s contributions to UK culture, film, and television. Despite this, Jason has been openly critical of the BBC in the past, expressing the need for restructuring within the organization.

In a 2010 interview with the Sun, Jason stated that the BBC had overextended itself into areas beyond its scope and needed to eliminate inefficiencies. Notably, Jason portrayed Derek Trotter in “Only Fools and Horses” and has appeared in other BBC productions like “Still Open All Hours.”

While many celebrities, including Jason, volunteered their time for the advert, comedian Romesh Ranganathan was paid for his involvement due to the extensive filming requirements. The BBC clarified that most participants contributed voluntarily to creatively promote the broadcaster’s services.

In addition to his BBC roles, Jason has enjoyed success in ITV productions such as “A Touch of Frost” and “The Darling Buds of May.” Separately, a special meet and greet event with Jason at an upcoming convention was revealed to come with a hefty ticket price, with fans needing to pay up to £450 for premium packages.
