The unfortunate event occurred at a property on Brownmoor Lane in Crosby, Merseyside, resulting in the passing of young Reuben Reynolds. Following the discovery in the pond, Reuben was swiftly transported by ambulance to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries at 10.57 pm the next day.

Senior coroner Anita Bhardwaj informed the court that a post-mortem examination is pending and is anticipated to occur within the week, with the scheduling of a full inquest contingent upon the post-mortem results. Testimony presented to the court by coroner’s officer Laura Daniels detailed the distressing incident, stating that Reuben was found submerged in the pond on Saturday, July 18, at the property in Crosby.

Reuben is known to have resided at the Crosby property with his mother. The Liverpool Echo reported that Merseyside Police and North West Ambulance Service responded to the distressing situation on Saturday. Authorities are actively supporting the family, with ongoing inquiries aimed at clarifying the sequence of events leading to the tragedy.

A representative from Merseyside Police confirmed the emergency response to the incident on Brownmoor Lane in Crosby, where the young boy had fallen into the pond. Despite prompt medical attention, the child was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
