The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have unveiled a never-before-seen photograph of their latest family pet, introducing their dog named Otto for the first time. William and Kate shared the image on social media to mark Otto’s first birthday, expressing a warm “Welcome to the family, Otto! 1 today” message alongside cake and party emojis. The adorable spaniel is the offspring of their other dog, Orla, who gave birth to a litter of four puppies last May. Notably, Orla and Otto were featured in a social media post celebrating William’s 43rd birthday in June.
Recently, the royal couple also shared a serene holiday picture of their family lounging in the grass under the sun, commemorating their 15th wedding anniversary. The snapshot, captured by photographer Matt Porteous in Cornwall, shows William and Kate with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, enjoying a barefoot moment during the Easter break. Orla and Otto can be spotted next to William in the photo.
The couple welcomed Orla into their family in 2020 after the sudden passing of their first shared dog, Lupo, a cocker spaniel gifted to them by Kate’s brother, James Middleton. Earlier this year, Kate mentioned keeping one of Orla’s puppies during a visit to a textiles factory in Wales, where she interacted with the staff and shared about their furry companions. Orla has made appearances at various family events and even had a featured role in one of William’s episodes.
As the royal family celebrates various milestones, including Prince Louis’s eighth birthday and their 15th wedding anniversary, they are now gearing up to mark Princess Charlotte’s 11th birthday. Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, born on May 2, 2015, holds significance in her middle names, honoring Queen Elizabeth II and her late grandmother, Princess Diana.
