EE has unveiled an enhanced version of its Scam Guard service to combat the increasing number of scams targeting mobile users. The upgrade, priced at £2 monthly for EE pay-monthly customers, aims to provide improved protection against cyber threats.
Since its debut in 2024, Scam Guard has already thwarted 169 million scam and spam attempts. With the upgraded version, EE anticipates doubling this figure over the next year. The new Scam Guard features AI Triple-Lock Protection, a combination of digital security measures powered by Norton’s Genie AI engine.
The updated service includes Safe Email for proactive scam protection in email inboxes, Safe SMS to detect complex scams in text messages, and Safe Web to block malicious sites during online activities. Additionally, customers can utilize the Scam Assistant tool to receive instant advice on the safety of various online content by uploading screenshots.
Malcolm Cubitt, Director of Product, Mobile at EE, highlighted the evolving nature of fraud with AI making scams more sophisticated and difficult to detect. He emphasized EE’s commitment to customer security through innovative solutions like the enhanced Scam Guard service, demonstrating the company’s dedication to cyber protection.
