“Meghan Markle Honors Kids on Australia Trip”

Published on

During a four-day trip to Australia with her husband Prince Harry, Meghan Markle honored her children, Archie and Lilibet.

The 44-year-old Duchess of Sussex was seen in Melbourne wearing a casual T-shirt with the word “Mama,” a clear reference to her role as a mother to their two kids. She combined the relaxed top with jeans, trainers, and an unbuttoned tan jacket that showcased her message shirt.

In contrast, 41-year-old Prince Harry opted for a blue shirt and dark trousers during the Australian visit. Meghan’s previous sighting of Lilibet’s red hair occurred before their Melbourne stop, where they visited the Royal Children’s Hospital and met a young girl whose birthday was near their daughter’s.

The couple arrived in Australia on April 13 and were set to leave on April 19. Meghan shared a touching moment with a young girl who shared the same nickname as their daughter, Lili, although her official title is Princess Lilibet.

Among the well-wishers in Melbourne was a young Lily who welcomed the Sussexes with a handmade sign reading, “Welcome Harry and Meghan.” The child gave Meghan a hand-knitted flower and revealed that her own birthday is just a day before Princess Lilibet’s on June 4, 2021.

During their visit to Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital, Harry and Meghan interacted warmly with patients, families, and medical staff, mirroring the caring approach of Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, during her Australian royal visits in the 1980s.

Prince Harry openly expressed his struggles with grief, acknowledging how it can be overwhelming. He spoke at the InterEdge Summit in Melbourne about feeling lost, betrayed, and powerless, particularly after the loss of his mother when he was just 12 years old.

The Australian trip marked a departure from their previous visits, as Harry and Meghan are no longer working royals and have given up their royal titles since 2020. Their last official Australian tour was in 2018 when they were still active members of the royal family.
