Princess Kate is set to attend a significant cancer research event in London tonight alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla. Kensington Palace has confirmed that the Princess of Wales will be joining the monarch at a special gathering at London’s St James’ Palace to honor Cancer Research UK.
The event, hosted by King Charles as the patron of Cancer Research UK, commemorates the organization’s 125th anniversary. The royal trio will engage with researchers, clinicians, volunteers, and partners involved in cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
During the event, Charles, Camilla, and Kate will explore interactive displays showcasing the charity’s work and visual representations demonstrating how technological advancements are revolutionizing cancer research.
Also in attendance will be the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, with the duke serving as a joint president of the charity. Both Charles and Kate faced undisclosed cancer diagnoses in 2024, with Kate now in remission while Charles continues his treatment.
Kate’s own battle with cancer began in early 2024, undergoing chemotherapy and announcing her remission 16 months ago in January 2025. She has openly shared her journey of recovery, emphasizing the emotional toll of the illness and the mix of fear, exhaustion, strength, and resilience that cancer survivors experience.
Since her remission announcement, the Princess of Wales has gradually resumed her royal duties, recently embarking on her first overseas royal visit post-cancer treatment to Italy, supporting her early years work.
While King Charles continues to receive treatment for his undisclosed cancer, he remains active in his royal duties, including a recent state visit to the US, where he garnered praise for his interactions with political figures and public appearances.
