Environment Canada has lifted a yellow warning for severe weather following a storm that swept through parts of southern Alberta on Tuesday evening. The weather agency cautioned about the potential for damaging wind gusts, large hail, and heavy rain as the storm progressed from Claresholm towards areas near Lethbridge and Medicine Hat. The initial warning, issued earlier in the afternoon, highlighted the threat of a severe thunderstorm capable of generating baseball-sized hail and causing damage to structures and trees.

Despite the lifting of the warning, a yellow watch for a severe thunderstorm remained active for a significant portion of the region, extending from Claresholm east to Hays and south towards the U.S. border as of Tuesday night.
