Former racing driver and TV personality, Guy Martin, has been handed a six-month driving ban for speeding violations while riding his Honda motorcycle. The 44-year-old star, known for presenting Speed With Guy Martin and achieving success at the Isle of Man TT race, admitted to breaking the speed limit twice.
Martin confessed to riding at 46mph in a 40mph zone on the A50 near Leicester and reaching 78mph in a temporary 50mph zone on the A43 near Brackley. As a result, he accumulated enough penalty points to warrant the driving ban.
Despite his past feats in setting speed records, Martin found himself in legal trouble for speeding offenses last year and earlier this year. His cases were processed through the Single Justice Procedure and concluded with a private sentencing at Loughborough Magistrates’ Court. Martin agreed to the ban and paid £1,329 in fines, costs, and victim surcharges without contesting the punishment.
With his legal issues resolved, Guy Martin, who has a history of pursuing speed-related achievements, will be off the roads for the next six months.
