Police apprehended a woman on suspicion of giving a harmful substance following an incident at a nursery in Shropshire. The authorities responded to the nursery located at Bitterley CofE Primary School near Ludlow over the weekend.

West Mercia Police disclosed that a 37-year-old woman was taken into custody for allegedly administering a noxious substance and has been subsequently released on bail. There were no severe injuries reported in connection with the incident, as confirmed by the police.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police stated, “Numerous investigations have been conducted, leading to the arrest of a 37-year-old woman on suspicion of administering a noxious substance. She has been granted bail while the inquiry remains ongoing.”

“We are collaborating closely with the school, Shropshire Council’s safeguarding team, Diocese of Hereford MAT, and the Integrated Care Board to ensure that all necessary safeguarding protocols are being adhered to. Fortunately, there have been no reports of serious injuries.”

“While we conduct our investigation, it is important for the public to refrain from making assumptions and allow us to carry out our work without speculation,” added the spokesperson.
