A woman recently shared the shocking incident where her sister-in-law poured black paint on her wedding dress as an act of retaliation during a family dispute. Gemma Monk’s white wedding gown, worth £1,800, was ruined by Antonia Eastwood, who mistakenly believed Gemma had tripped her intentionally at a previous wedding event involving their family.
Gemma, aged 35 and residing in Herne Bay, Kent, was left devastated on her wedding day on May 24, 2024, as Eastwood fled the scene at Oakwood House in Maidstone. Eastwood, who sabotaged the dress, received a suspended prison sentence as a consequence.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Gemma explained the ongoing feud between them that began at Eastwood’s own troubled wedding. She described various mishaps during Eastwood’s wedding that led to tensions and subsequent blame being directed towards her.
Despite receiving accusatory texts from Eastwood, Gemma was taken aback by the premeditated nature of the attack during her own wedding. She narrated the distressing moment of being splattered with black paint just before walking down the aisle. Despite the setback, Gemma was determined to proceed with her wedding to Ken, her partner since the age of 14, emphasizing her long-awaited special day.
Recounting the incident, Gemma expressed her disbelief at the planned revenge scheme by Eastwood and her husband, who had secretly followed her wedding location. The attack occurred shortly after Gemma’s benign tumor diagnosis, adding to the emotional turmoil she faced.
Eastwood’s punishment included a suspended 10-month custodial sentence and 160 hours of community service. Gemma, despite the ordeal, remained resilient and determined to cherish the joyous occasion of her wedding day.
