On Rottingdean beach in Brighton, a man was discovered deceased, adding to the recent sorrow in the coastal town following the tragic loss of three sisters just a fortnight ago.
Sussex Police confirmed the finding of the man’s body on Friday morning, with ongoing investigations at the scene and a secured area.
According to a police spokesperson, authorities responded to the report of a man found on the beach at Rottingdean on May 29. The man’s identity is yet to be confirmed, and inquiries are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The recent discovery follows the recovery of the bodies of three women near Madeira Drive on May 13. Sussex Police identified the women as Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walters, 32, and Rebecca Walters, 31, hailing from the Uxbridge area of London.
An inquest into the women’s deaths was initiated at Woodvale in Brighton, revealing that the provisional cause of death remains undetermined based on post-mortem examinations.
During the inquest, Senior Coroner Penelope Schofield expressed condolences to the women’s father, Joseph Jacobson, acknowledging the immense grief he must be enduring.
Details presented at the inquest indicated that Ms. Adetoro was brought ashore by an RNLI team and pronounced deceased by a paramedic. Christina Walters was retrieved from the sea by an RNLI lifeboat, and Rebecca Walters was found on Brighton beach, both declared deceased by paramedics.
Medical investigations continue to determine the exact cause of death for the three women, with authorities currently ruling out third-party involvement.
Living together in Greenford, west London, the sisters’ occupations remain undisclosed.
The coroner aimed to quell speculations circulating on social media regarding the circumstances of the deaths, adjourning the inquest until October 8.
Following the tragic event, Mr. Jacobson, the father of the sisters, expressed the unbearable grief he faces but emphasized holding onto cherished memories and the everlasting bond they shared.
A GoFundMe campaign initiated by the family to cover funeral expenses and provide support has garnered nearly £44,000 in donations.
